Pie Town New Mexico Area Amenities

America's Friendliest Little Town!
A Year-Round Recreational Paradise On The Continental Divide

There are a number of things to see and do in the area. A Pie Town Museum is planned to be located in an old homesteader cabin. The Annual Pie Town Festival, which began as a family reunion for Pie Town pioneers, now features a wide range of activities. A slice of American pie is what hikers find when they visit Pie Town's Daily Pie Cafe. The Daily Pie has become a social epicenter and full service restaurant.

Some 21 miles further west on US Highway 60 at the lower altitude of 6,970 feet lies Quemado, named for the Spanish word for "burned."

When Jose Antonio Padilla settled by a creek east of the present town in 1880, he found that the surrounding brush had been burned by the Indians, so he named it Rito Quemado.

Today Quemado is a service center for the surrounding ranching community.
